Bullseye® Apodizing filters are used to eliminate undesirable intensity variations in optical systems. The density of the filter increases in the radial direction from the outside edge towards the center. These apodizing coatings are produced on a custom basis since uniformity variations are a function of the customers optical configurations. The filter can also be supplied as an inverse apodizing configuration. That is, the density increases from the center to the outside edge. The apodizing type of filters are fabricated to meet the needs of specific optical systems. The following data is required to fabricate the filter: Outside diameter of filter. Thickness of substrate. Surface quality of substrate (scratch & dig). Material of substrate. Wavelength of optical system. Density profile of coating. Is anti-reflection required on one or both sides?
