Multi-Band Coatings

In addition to engineering thin film coatings that  function in the Visible, Infrared and Ultraviolet bands, Reynard Corporation can engineer and apply Multi-Band thin film coatings.  Multi-Band thin film coatings can either be applied to Reynard Corporation supplied high-quality optical substrates or to customer-provided substrates.

Applications:

Multi-Band thin film coatings are useful in the creation of optical filters for any application where it is important to have the ability to filter separate bands simultaneously, or at different process stages. The analysis of fluorescently-labeled proteins in the biotechnology field is one example where Multi-Band filters are being used effectively. Multi-Band anti reflection (AR) filters are useful in any system where varying wavelengths need to be transmitted with minimal loss of energy.

Process:

Our thin film coating facility has 20 vacuum chambers, ranging from an 18” bell jar to a 54” fully automatic box coater, all in a 4000 square foot Class 1000 clean room. Processes include electron beam, ion assisted and resistance source deposition. We have the capability to coat virtually any size and shape up to and including substrates 50” in diameter.
